How long will postings remain on this Forum?
Postings will be deleted after one month of inactivity. If there is a particular post you would like to keep you can either copy and paste the posting into an e-mail and send it to yourself, or you can download the HTML file to your computer.
What do this Forum's Moderators do?
Moderators are individuals (or groups of individuals) whose job it is to look after the running of the forum from day to day. They have the power to delete topics and/or followup responses to topics and to edit any posting. Generally moderators are there to prevent people going off-topic or posting abusive or offensive material.
How do I include a photo with my message?
Any image with a web address (URL) can be posted with your message. Enter the URL (begins with http:// and ends with either .jpg or .gif) address into the "Optional Image URL" box before submitting your message.
How can I get a URL for pictures I have on my PC in order to post them with my message?
First you need to save your photos online using a photosharing website. Photosharing sites can be broadly broken up into two groups: sites that offer photosharing for free and sites that charge consumers directly to host and share photos.
Of the sites that offer free photosharing, most can be broken up into advertising-supported sites, such as:
and online photo finishing sites: Paid sites typically offer subscription-based services directly to consumers and dispense with advertisements and sometimes the sale of other goods. Examples of paid sites are Fotki, PBase, Phanfare and SmugMug."Once you've saved your photo online and set the sharing levels for that photo or album, you're ready to place your photo anywhere. Just right click on the image desired, choose "properties" highlight and copy the address (URL).
To add the picture to your posting on this Farfaners' Discussion Forum, once you've copied the URL from your storage site, right click on the "Optional Image URL" box and click "paste".
This Optional Image URL box is located near the bottom of the Post a Message page. If the URL box hows http:// in it simply delete those characters before pasting your selected photo's URL. Now add your text and post your message. The image will appear in your message.
Below is an example of a photo URL posted at Ringo. It has been copied and pasted to this page.

Can I put html tags anywhere in my posts?
No. You can not use HTML tags in any field. The script will just throw out everything in <>'s.
Why are there colons in the message when I try to post a followup?
Colons appear in the message dialog box when you try to followup up on a message to indicate that those lines are quoting the previous document. The owner of the WWWBoard can decide whether they wish to enable or disable the quoting of previous messages.
Your post most likely did not show up, because your browser did not reload the page, it simply pulled it out of cache. Please reload your browser and it should then appear.
Where can I get the scripts for this WWWBoard program?
The scripts are written in Perl and created by Matt Wright. Enjoy!
