Well I made my first contact this afternoon. As I've said the radio is in my shed where I keep my boat stuff etc. Just a small 7mc whip on the roof, about 40 watts output because too much pwr will trip my circuit breaker. Not really a tradition setup but anyway, following my CQ, I received a call from N8ER in Parsons WV. Over the years I've sent NBA just to hear how it sounds and I've tapped it out enough times as well. It was something to hear it come back to me on HF K1NBA de N8ER ..etc. An unusual feeling of the old days and it did just about lift me off of the seat. Once I get set up I'll set up a sked with Vic.
